A Mayad Experience
'twas 29 mins. after 2 in the afternoon on the 9th of February 2011, when my cellphone notified me of a message that would soon turn my life around.
Regularly, on a Wednesday afternoon, you would find me sitting behavely inside the English classroom of the 51st Building of the RMIT University City Campus, paying attention to my beloved professor. Well, something made this day special, magical in fact.
Just like any other student, I always have my cellphone tucked inside my pocket - in silent mode of course. And being in class, I'd completely forget about it as I don't normally receive messages, as all of my 'textmates' are in the same room as I am. Nor do I have a girlfriend outside the campus. No, seriously. I don't. *wink.
While in the middle of a discussion, unexpectedly, my phone vibrated. Before even reaching into my pocket, I already assumed that it was either a close beloved family member or my brother. Either of the two.
To my amazement, and until now, I'm still flabbergasted by it, a notification from my facebook app, telling me that someone, by the name of "Alvin Paver" has sent me a message. And it's a long one! And it's not generic! And it was sent specifically TO ME, FROM HIM.
I didn't care whether my prof. was still discussing his lecture, nor did I care about whether I was sitting in front of the whole class and that my prof. could easily see me grinnning as I read through my message. Then suddenly, there was silence. In my head, I kept thinking, "ahhhh, at last, some peace & quiet, so I could come up with a smart and fancy reply without the noise pollution."
Prof.: Aldin! What are you doing?!
Me: Texting. Composing a message, I mean.
Prof.: Oh, ok.
Then he continues the lecture. I still don't understand why he let me continue, but I think he understood the gravity of the situation. THIS WAS ALVIN PAVER! THE CREATIVE DIRECTOR OF MAYAD STUDIOS! MESSAGING ME DURING HIS CLASS! that has got to mean something!
Anyways, to cut a long story short. I accepted the proposal and (no, he didn't ask my hand for marriage. My parents are too sctrict.) we made a lovely video for an oh-so-adorable and really really kind, good-hearted melbourne couple!

Luckily, I've managed to snap a few photos from our 3-day video shoot.
