"Thank you"

Wow. It's been a while.

It has been a few months since my last blog post, and for me to post a new one after a few months of blog inactivity proves to be quite a daunting task.

Why? What for? Is there a good enough reason for me to post one significant blog post after such a long period of time?

Well, here goes.

14th of April, 2013 - We were surprised to have received an e-mail from 'The Wedding Industry Experts' - as we were quite familiar with the organisation and what they represent. So upon receiving the e-mail, we felt nothing but excitement!

This has been our first ever nomination. And 'Grandeur Films' has only been officially established on March 2013 - 1 month before the nominations came in. We were in disbelief of the recognition.

We then started to 'spread the word' and let everyone in our Facebook network know of this humble achievement of ours. We posted here and there, messaged our family members & friends, and even spammed a few... sorry.

But what happened next was something I never expected.

The following post was published on the Philippine Times online website.
I never would have thought they would even notice our nomination.

And I'm extremely grateful.

Grateful to have the whole Aus-Filipino community alongside us, people who we don't even know, people who are there to support us and are willing to help.
Ibang klase talaga ang Pinoy. Maraming maraming salamat.

A few more Facebook posts & tweets later and then the day came.

Well, actually, prior to 'the date' I couldn't take my mind off of it.

'30TH OF APRIL'

'30TH OF APRIL'

'30TH OF APRIL'

It's like waiting for an acceptance letter from that prestige University you've been dreaming of. Or an exam result you've been dying to know.
You know WHEN it's going to arrive. You just don't know whether it's a yay or a nay.

The day went by as I refreshed my e-mail inbox repeatedly.
And then at 10:37pm, I have officially received 'The E-mail' - *Insert Orchestraic Music*

Wow, they just had to tease.
Make me log-in to 'see results'.

clicked, closed my eyes and prayed...

It jolted me out of my couch.

I honestly cannot stop smiling. And for most of you who know me personally, you know that 'smiling' is not something that I do.

We didn't expect to win, but we were hoping.
We were hoping because we believed in our work.

We did not expect to receive this much acknowledgement from the world in such a short period of time.

We were hoping for Melbourne, and you gave us the world.

We won the Best New Cinematography Award. Every single one.
And we are overwhelmed.

This achievement is not just for us, it is meant to be shared with everyone who supported us and believed in us.

We know there are many great and wonderful wedding videographers out there who deserve the same. We are inspired by many of them, not only by their works but also through their continuous help, advice, support and praise. It is because of them we continue to improve our craft in wedding filmmaking and continuously raise our standards.

A big thank you to all of our AMAZING brides and grooms - past, present and future, who have been there to support, love and believe. You believe in us, and it’s our responsibility to live up to the honour you voted us into.

Thank you to everyone who continue to follow our journey through our blogFacebookGoogle+Vimeo, etc. and to everyone who continue to support us.

A HUGE thank you to our clients, for seeing something different and unique about our work, and for allowing us to do what we LOVE to do.

To my family and friends, thank you for everything.

'Grandeur Films' - Internationally acclaimed multi-award winning wedding cinematographers based in Melbourne, Australia.

Nice.

We have our brand new fan page up on Facebook @ Grandeur Films. And we have really been working hard to build our community by offering great content.

Would you mind if I ask for your help to please kindly like our Facebook page?
I would greatly appreciate it! 'Click here.'

And if you're still reading this fine print, THANK YOU. It really means a lot to me.
